    \textit{B. Mårtensson} [Syst. Control Lett. 6, 87-91 (1985; Zbl 0564.93055)] showed that the order of any stabilizing controller is sufficient a priori information for adaptively stabilizing a linear time-invariant system by constructing an adaptive feedback mechanism based on a dense search through the controller parameter space [see also \textit{B. Mårtensson} and \textit{J. W. Polderman}, Syst. Control Lett. 20, 465-470 (1993; Zbl 0788.93078)]. This paper extends the result in Mårtensson's paper to a class of nonlinear time-varying systems. The control law given now is very similar to the controller derived there, but is slightly simpler.
