The author continues his previous research [Mem. Am. Math. Soc. 517 (1994; Zbl 0804.53069)] by studying geodesics in Riemannian planes with total curvature \(2\pi\) and in Riemannian half planes. He focuses on the behavior of geodesics outside a compact set. For instance, if \(M\) is a Riemannian plane with total curvature \(2\pi\), it is shown that for any \(n\geq 1\) there exists a compact set \(K_{\pi}\) of \(M\) such that any proper maximal geodesic in \(M\) outside \(K_{\pi}\) has a subarc of rotation number not less than \(n\).
