SH-waves emitted by a line source located in the surface-layer are subject to successive reflections, and transmissions between the two dipping layers, considered on top of a half space, before they reach an observational point at the free surface. The ray sorting technique by arrival time of body- and head waves renders individual time functions which by superposition form a synthetic seismogram. Local slowness and phase functions are expressed in a matrix multiplicative form which clearly exhibits the concept of apparent source ray. Application of the Cagniard mapping and numerical integration by Gaussian quadrature concludes the evaluation of the generalized ray-integrals. Synthetic seismograms are evaluated under the assumptions of a pulsed source time function of triangular shape with equal rise- and fall time.
