The authors consider quantum systems whose evolution is governed by time dependent Hamiltonians which are equal with \(H_{-}=T+V_{-}\) for \(t<0\) and with \(H_{+}=T+V_{+}\) for \(t>0\), \(T\) being the kinetic energy and \(V_{-}\) and \(V_{+}\) time independent potentials. They describe a general procedure to obtain the wave function and its density probability for \(t>0\) using Feynman propagators. Explicit computations are provided for the case of the ground state of a deuteron subjected to a sudden electrostatic field. In this case the variables can be separated and the formulas for the Feynman propagator can be obtained from the book of \textit{C. Grosche} and \textit{F. Steiner} [Handbook of Feynman path integrals, Springer Tracts in Modern Physics, Vol. 145, (Berlin, Springer Verlag) (1998; Zbl 1029.81045)]. So all what one has to do is to compute the integrals of some Gaussians.
