Let \(G\) be the group of rational points of a semisimple algebraic group of rank 1 over a non-Archimedean local field. \(G\) acts on its Bruhat-Tits tree. If \(\Gamma\) is a lattice in \(G\) then the quotient graph \(\Gamma\setminus X\) is the union of a finite connected graph \(E\) with finitely many rays attached to \(E\). The main result of the paper improves on \textit{A. Lubotzky}'s [Geom. Funct. Anal. 1, 405-431 (1991; Zbl 0786.22017)] description of this situation. In particular the cusp subgroups are analyzed (Theorem 2.3, (4)) and the group \(\Gamma\) is described in terms of graphs of groups (Proposition 2.4).
