The author studies the dynamics of rotor-bearing system governed by the initial value problem \(x'' + \eta x' + \omega_{0}^{2}(1+\varepsilon \sin \omega t)x + kx^{3} = e\omega^{2}\sin \omega t\), \(x(0) = A, x'(0) = 0.\) For this purpose, a variational iteration method is employed.
