The author proves the following theorem. Let \(\pi_i\), \(i=1,2\) are two irreducible generic smooth representations of \(G_n:= \mathrm{GL}_n(F)\), \(n\geq 2\), and if for any \(r\leq n/2\) and any irreducible generic smooth representation \(\rho\) of \(G_r\), we have the equality of Rankin-Selberg local gamma factors \(\gamma(s,\pi_1\times \rho,\psi ) = \gamma(s,\pi_2\times \rho,\psi )\), then \(\pi_1\) and \(\pi_2\) are isomorphic. He proves this theorem by first using a result of [\textit{D. Jiang} et al., J. Eur. Math. Soc. (JEMS) 17, No. 4, 991--1007 (2015; Zbl 1330.11034)] to reduce it to the case when both \(\pi_i\) are supercuspidal. He then proves that \(\pi_1\) and \(\pi_2\) have the same associated Bessel functions.
