\textit{S. Mazur} and \textit{W. Orlicz} [Stud. Math. 5, 50-68 and 179-189 (1935; Zbl 0013.21002)] introduced the concept of generalized polynomials of several variables. The authors of the paper under review investigate this concept in the case where variables and values are placed in arbitrary vector spaces. They also give some criteria in order to express a generalized polynomials of several variables in terms of symmetric multiadditive functions.
