One-dimensional linear and nonlinear Burger equations have been employed to investigate the interaction of the time stepping and convection schemes for unsteady flow situations. Three time stepping and four convection schemes have been considered. The von Neumann stability analysis and the FFT spectral analysis have been carried out to aid our understanding of the performance characteristics of these schemes. The results of permanent interest have been obtained.
