In an earlier paper the author of the paper under review described the subgroups of the general linear group \(GL_ nA\), \(n\geq 3\), over a Banach algebra A with 1 which are normalized by elementary matrices. In the present paper similar results are obtained for unitary groups in the sense of Wall's definition which include symplectic and orthogonal groups.
