An (m,n)-type k-set in a finite affine plane \(\pi\) is a set \({\mathcal K}\) of k points such that every line meets \({\mathcal K}\) in either m points or n points. Here it must hold that \(1\leq m<n\leq q-1,\) where q is the order of \(\pi\). It is known that the integers k, m, n, q must satisfy \((i)\quad n+mq\leq k\leq (n-1)q+m,\) \((ii)\quad (n-m)| q,\) \((n-m)| m,\) \((n- m)| n,\) \((n-m)| k,\) and \((iii)\quad c=k/(n-m)\) satisfies the equation \(c^ 2-c[(2s+1)(q+1)-b]+s(s+1)q(q+1)=0\), where \(s=m/(n-m)\) and \(b=q/(n-m)\). See the article Rend. Mat. 1, 63-80 (1981; Zbl 0476.51007) by the author. A 4-tuple (k,m,n,q) satisfying (i), (ii), (iii) is called arithmetically admissible by the author, and all such 4-tuples are determined. Furthermore, it is shown that 4-tuples of the form \((k,p,2p,p^ h)\), where p is a prime, are not admissible.
