The author obtains some relations between decomposition numbers of quantized Schur algebras at an \(n\)-th root of unity (over a field of characteristic 0), from which it follows that each such decomposition number occurs as a decomposition number for a Hecke algebra of type \(A\). This is an analogue of a result of \textit{K. Erdmann} [J. Algebra 180, No. 1, 316-320 (1996; Zbl 0845.20006)] on decomposition numbers for Schur algebras and symmetric groups and a converse to a result of \textit{G. James} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 52, 236-268 (1986; Zbl 0587.20022)] and \textit{R. Dipper} and \textit{G. James} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 59, No. 1, 23-50 (1989; Zbl 0711.20007)]. Also, the author obtains some similar relations between coefficients of the canonical basis of the \(q\)-deformed Fock space representation of \(U_q(\widehat{\text{sl}}_n)\). These results lead to new proofs of character formulas of \textit{G. Lusztig} [J. Algebra 131, No. 2, 466-475 (1990; Zbl 0698.16007)] for simple modules and \textit{W. Soergel} [Represent. Theory 1, No. 15, 115-132 (1997; Zbl 0964.17019)] for tilting modules.
