The authors' study, both from the Institute of Cybernetics -- Ukraine Academy of Sciences, discusses the scientific contribution brought by B. N. Pshenichnyi -- Great scientist, winner of several state prizes -- to several domains and branches of mathematics in which he had been especially interested, such as: network design, graph theory, optimal control, mathematical programming and computational methods of function minimization, convex analysis and necessary conditions of extremum, differential games, many-valued mappings and differential inclusions, models of economic dynamics, minimax parameter estimation, problems of search for moving objects, solution of variational inequalities, methods of packing geometrical figures. The main part of the study is devoted to a thorough discussion, analysis and demonstration of several of Pshenichnyi's theorems that made the Kiev school of mathematics famous worldwide.
