It is shown here that a finite union of convex compact subsets of \(\mathbb{R}^d\) has a representation as attractor of a hyperbolic iterated function system. \textit{M. F. Barnsley} [Fractals everywhere. Revised with the assistance of Hawley Rising III. Answer key by Hawley Rising III. 2nd ed. Boston, MA: Academic Press Professional (1993; Zbl 0784.58002)] introduced the notion of an iterated function system with condensation, and it is also shown here that if a finite union of convex compact sets is the condensation set of a hyperbolic iterated function system with condensation, then it has a representation as the attractor of a hyperbolic iterated function system. The main result is illustrated using the so-called Pythagoras tree fractal. Several open questions are arising from these results.
