    Let \(f\in C_{2\pi}\) and denote by \(S_ n(x)=S_ n(f)(x)\) the n-th partial sum of the Fourier series of f: f(x)\(\sim a_ 0/2+\sum^{\infty}_{n=1}(a_ n\) cos nx\(+b_ n\) sin nx) and by \(\| \cdot \|_ c\) the supremum norm. If \(\phi\) is an increasing positive function on (0,\(\infty)\) then the \(\phi\)-norm is defined as \[ \| f\|_{\phi}=\| f\|_ c+\sup_{x\neq y}| f(x)-f(y)| /\phi (| x-y|). \] Let \(\{A_ n\}\) be a sequence of linear convolution operators from \(C_{2\pi}\) into \(C_{2\pi}\) with operator norms \(\| A_ n\|\), and let w(f;\(\delta)\) denote the modulus of continuity of \(f\in C_{2\pi}\) the authors prove the inequality: \[ \| A_ n(f)-f\|_{\phi}\leq \| A_ n(f)-f\|_ c(1+2/\phi (1/n))+\sup_{0<\delta \leq 1/n}2W(f;\delta)/\phi (\delta)(1+\| A_ n\|). \]
