For bosonic string theory in critical dimension, e.g. without conformal (Weyl-)anomaly, the Belavin-Knizhnik theorem [\textit{A. A. Belavin} and \textit{V. G. Knizhnik}, Phys. Lett. B 168, No. 3, 201-206 (1986; Zbl 0693.58043)] says that the partition function can be factorized as wedge product of a holomorphic form, the Mumford form, with its complex conjugate on the moduli space of compact Riemann surfaces. For more information see also \textit{A. A. Beilinson} and \textit{Yu. I. Manin} in Commun. Math. Phys. 107, 359-376 (1986; Zbl 0604.14016). The author of the article under review proves for a generic value of the central charge the holomorphic factorization of partition functions for free super-conformal fields which are defined on a compact Riemann surface without boundary. The partition functions are viewed as functionals of the Beltrami coefficients and their fermionic partners (they parametrize superconformal classes of metrics). To compensate for the conformal (Weyl-)anomaly a local counterterm is added which shifts the anomaly to the chirally split form of the superdiffeomorphism anomaly. The article relies on the notation and the results of the following articles: \textit{J. P. Ader}, \textit{F. Gieres}, and \textit{Y. Noirot} in Classical Quantum Gravity 10, No. 1, 1-18 (1993; Zbl 0784.58014) and \textit{F. Delduc} and \textit{F. Gieres} in Classical Quantum Gravity 7, No. 11, 1907-1952 (1990; Zbl 0714.53058).
