A fibration \(F:S\to C\), where \(S\), respectively \(C\) is a projective irreducible non-singular surface, respectively curve over \(\mathbb{C}\) is said to be a quasi-bundle if all of its smooth fibres are pairwise isomorphic and where the only singular fibres are multiples of smooth curves. Of course, if \(F\) has no singular fibre then \(F\) reduces to an ordinary fibre bundle. The main purpose of this paper is to study the Picard group of surfaces \(S\) which possess a quasi-bundle fibration for a suitable chosen curve \(C\). In fact, the authors describe the relationships between divisibility properties of a fibre bundle in \(H^ 2(S,\mathbb{Z})\) (modulo torsion) and the torsion of \(H^ 2(S,\mathbb{Z})\). Here, if \(F\) is the general fibre of a quasi-bundle, \(F:S\to C\), then one says, that \(F\) is divisible by some positive integer \(k\) if there exists some \(L\in H^ 2(S,\mathbb{Z})\) with the property that \(F-kL\in H^ 2(S,\mathbb{Z})_{\text{tors}}\). The author provides for each prime \(p\) some examples of fibre bundles with fibre divisible by \(p\) in \(\text{Pic}(S)\). On the other hand, it is shown that one may relate the divisibility of fibres with the torsion on homology for quasi-bundles --- an appropriate change of basis allows to reduce to the bundle case and to apply the previous fibre bundle situation. In the case of ellipitic quasi-bundles a rather explicit classification (and calculation of the monodromy) appears to be available as well.
