The authors derive \(hp\)-discontinuous Galerkin finite element methods for the semidiscretization of parabolic equations. Fully discrete \(hp\)-schemes are derived and numerical examples for the 2-D heat equation are presented. The exponential convergence rate predicted by the analysis is confirmed by the numerical experiments.
