The maximal quotient rings of regular group rings. III (Q1918328)

[For part II cf. Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 104, No. 2, 357-362 (1988; Zbl 0691.16017).] In part I [J. Algebra 115, No. 1, 164-174 (1988; Zbl 0643.16007)] the proof of the main result is based implicitly on the classification of the finite simple groups. In the present work the author gives a new proof of this result which does not use the classification of the finite simple groups.
