The authors assume that some of the quantum Hamiltonian defined to study spherically symmetric vacuum spacetime can describe, for an observer at rest and far away, the quantum mechanics of a black hole. They chose one of the simplest of these quantum equations and got a logarithmic correction to the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy as it was obtained by Kastrup.
