Let \(C(X,A)\) denote the algebra of all continuous maps from a paracompact space \(X\) into a Banach algebra \(A\). The stable rank \(\text{sr }A\) of a Banach algebra \(A\) was introduced by \textit{M. A. Rieffel} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 46, 301-333 (1983; Zbl 0533.46046)]. The main result of this paper states that \(\text{sr}(\mathbb{C}(X,A))\leq\text{sr}(A)+\dim X\). This generalizes the case when \(X\) is compact, which is due to \textit{G. Corach} and \textit{A. R. Larotonda} [J. Algebra 101, 433-449 (1986; Zbl 0603.18006)].
