The article is devoted to the study of higher Grassmann codes, that are a class of codes that generalize the well-known Reed-Muller codes. It presents a comprehensive study of these codes, encompassing their parameters, dimension formulas, and duality properties. The authors expand upon their previous work on higher Grassmann codes [Finite Fields Appl. 76, Article ID 101905, 22 p. (2021; Zbl 1527.94091)], broadening the scope to encompass codes of arbitrary order. They establish a weak form of Hilbert's Nullstellensatz for the \(\mathbb{F}_q\)-rational points of a Grassmann variety, paving the way for dimension calculations. Additionally, they introduce two formulations of the dimension formula for projective Reed-Muller codes, extending these computations to higher Grassmann codes. A significant contribution of the article is a duality theorem, revealing that the dual of a higher Grassmann code is either another higher Grassmann code or an extension of a higher Grassmann code by an all-1 codeword. This self-orthogonality property mirrors that of projective Reed-Muller codes. Furthermore, the duality theorem enables the construction of quantum codes from higher Grassmann codes using the CSS construction.
