Suppose that \(X\) is a Banach space of functions where the linear span of all exponential functions \(\{e^{\lambda z}: \lambda\in\mathbb{C}\}\) is dense, then the Fourier-Laplace transform \[S\mapsto \widehat{S}(\lambda) = S(e^{\lambda z}),\quad S\in X^{*},\] maps the dual space \(X^{*}\) bijectively to a certain space \(\widehat{X}\) of functions on \(\mathbb{C}\). In the case that \(X\) is a Hilbert space satisfying certain natural conditions, the space \(\widehat{X}\) turns out to be a reproducing kernel Hilbert space of entire functions. It is known that a system of exponential functions \(\{e^{\lambda_k z}: k\in\mathbb{N}\}\) is an unconditional basis for \(X\) if and only if the system \(\{K(\lambda,\lambda_k): k\in\mathbb{N}\}\) is an unconditional basis for \(\widehat{X}\). Here, \(K(\lambda,a)\) denotes the reproducing kernel of \(\widehat{X}\) at \(a\). If it happens that \(\widehat{X}\) possesses the division property and \(\{K(\lambda,\lambda_k): k\in\mathbb{N}\}\) is an unconditional basis, then the associated biorthogonal system can be expressed as \[\ell_{k}(\lambda) = \frac{L(\lambda)}{L'(\lambda_k)(\lambda-\lambda_j)},\qquad \lambda\in\mathbb{C},\] where \(L(\lambda)\) is a so-called generating function with simple zeros at \(\lambda_k\). The paper under review concerns the ``reverse direction''. The authors start with an entire function \(L\) having simple zeros \(\{\lambda_k: k\in\mathbb{N}\}\) that satisfy a separation condition and construct a reproducing kernel Hilbert space \(\mathcal{H}_{L}\) for which the system \(\{K(\lambda,\lambda_k): k\in\mathbb{N}\}\) is an unconditional basis. The space \(\mathcal{H}_{L}\) consists of entire functions that are square integrable with respect to a weighted Lebesgue measure associated with \(L\). It is then shown that several well-known spaces with unconditional bases are isomorphic, as normed spaces, to \(\mathcal{H}_{L}\) for appropriate choices of \(L\).
