The present work deals with the problem to find a function on a compact Riemann surface with a given jump on a non-rectifiable curve and which is holomorphic outside this curve. The known solvability criteria for this problem in terms of new metric characteristics of non-rectifiable curves are improved. The jump problem on the complex plane \(\mathbb{C}\) is formulated as follows: find a holomorphic in \(\bar{\mathbb{C}}\setminus\Gamma\) function \(\Phi(z)\) satisfying \[ \Phi^+(t)-\Phi^-(t)=f(t),\quad t\in\Gamma. \eqno (1) \] Here \(\Gamma\) is a simple closed curve given on \(\mathbb{C}\), which divides the plane into the domains \(D^+\) and \(D^-\), \(\infty\in D^-\), \(\Phi^\pm\) are the limits of \(\Phi\) on \(\Gamma\) from the domains \(D^\pm\), respectively, \(f(t)\) is a given function on \(\Gamma\). The main result is the following Theorem. The jump problem (1) on a Riemann surface \(\mathfrak{R}\) is solvable if \(f\in H_v^{\mathrm{loc}}(\Gamma)\), \[ v(t)>1-\frac{1}{2} m(\Gamma;t), \quad t\in\Gamma, \] and \[ \iint_{\mathfrak{R}}\frac{\partial F}{\partial{\bar{z}}} dw_k d{\bar{z}}=0, \quad k=1,2,\ldots,h, \] where \(F\) is a \(p\)-quasisolution with \(p>2\), \(h\) is the genus of \(\mathfrak{R}\) and \(\{dw_1,dw_2,\ldots,dw_h\}\) is a basis for the Abel differentials of the first kind on \(\mathfrak{R}\).
