The author considers a linear Volterra integral equation with an operatorial kernel of convolution type in a complex Banach space. He proves the equivalence of three conditions for the existence and uniqueness of solutions in the class of \(p\)-summable or essentially bounded functions. The case of a semilinear Volterra equation is also discussed.
