Let \(\mathbb{F}\) be a field of characteristic \(\text{char}\, (\mathbb{F})>2\). A Lie algebra \(A\) with bracket \([\cdot,\cdot]\) is called Lie nilpotent if \(\gamma_n(A)=0\) for some \(n\), where \(\gamma_1(A)=A\) and \(\gamma_k(A)=[\gamma_{k-1}(A),A]\) for every \(k\geq 2\) denotes the lower Lie central series of \(A\), and it is called Lie solvable if \(\delta_m(A)=0\) for some \(m\), where \(\delta_0(A)=A\) and \(\delta_k(A)=[\delta_{k-1}(A),\delta_{k-1}(A)]\) for every \(k\geq 1\) denotes the Lie derived series of \(A\). Let \(L=L_0\oplus L_1\) be a Lie superalgebra with enveloping algebra \(U(L)\). Then \(U(L)\) can be endowed with both a Lie algebra structure and a Lie super-structure, i.e. with a super-bracket. In this paper the authors consider Lie superalgebras \(L\) whose enveloping algebra \(U(L)\) satisfy a non-matrix polynomial identity, that is, a polynomial identity not satisfied by the algebra \( M_2(\mathbb{F})\) of \(2\times2\) matrices over \(\mathbb{F}\), providing a characterization of such Lie superalgebras. Such a characterization is applied to identify those Lie superalgebras having Lie solvable, Lie nilpotent or Lie super-nilpotent enveloping algebras. If \(\text{char}\,(\mathbb{F})=3\) additional conditions on the Lie superalgebra \(L=L_0\oplus L_1\) are required to ensure \(L\) to be embedded into its enveloping algebra \(U(L)\).
