Optical biosensors used to investigate surface-volume reaction kinetics are usually modeled assuming unidirectional flow within these devices. New versions of these biosensors (e.g. Flexchip) include more complicated geometry and two-dimensional flows. The authors attempt to model these flows by relating them to unidirectional flows with the use of conformal mappings.
