Let \(X\) be a complex manifold with the action of a finite group \(G\). Then \(X/G\) has a natural orbifold structure. This paper is concerned with the twisted orbifold K-theory \( ^\alpha K_{\mathrm{orb}}(X/G)\) of \(X/G\), due to \textit{A. Adem} and \textit{Y. Ruan} [Commun. Math. Phys. 237, No. 3, 533--556 (2003; Zbl 1051.57022)], where \(\alpha\) is a 2-cocycle in \(Z^2(G, \mathbb{S}^1)\). Let \(\tilde{G}_\alpha\) be the group extension of \(G\) by \(\mathbb{S}^1\) corresponding to \(\alpha\); then by an \(\alpha\)-twisted \(G\)-bundle over \(X\) is meant a complex vector bundle \(E\to X\) with \(\tilde{G}_\alpha\)-action such that \(\mathbb{S}^1\) acts on the fibers via complex multiplication and the \(G\)-action covers that on \(X\). The author considers here \( ^\alpha K_{\mathrm{orb}}(X/G)\), the Grothendieck group of isomorphism classes of these \(\alpha\)-twisted \(G\)-bundles over \(X\), and proves that there is a decomposition such that \[ K_{\mathrm{orb}}(X/G)\otimes\mathbb{C}\cong (\bigoplus_{g\in G}K(X^g)\otimes \mathbb{C})^{G_\alpha} \] where \(G_\alpha=G\) and the subscript \(\alpha\) indicates that its action is twisted by \(\alpha\). Via this isomorphism the author introduces a product on \(K_{\mathrm{orb}}(X/G)\otimes\mathbb{C}\) by constructing an \(\alpha\)-twisted string product on \((\bigoplus_{g\in G}K(X^g)\otimes\mathbb{C})^{G_\alpha}\). Then the author constructs a twisted Chern character from \( ^\alpha K_{\mathrm{orb}}(X/G)\otimes\mathbb{C}\) to the twisted orbifold cohomology \(H^*_{\mathrm{orb}}(X/G; \mathcal{L}^\alpha)\) and shows that it becomes a ring isomorphism.
