It is known that in any infinite dimensional Teichmüller space, there exist closed geodesics and there are also spheres which are not convex. This paper considers the similar geometric properties of asymptotic Teichmüller space. With respect to the asymptotic Teichmüller metric, the authors construct closed geodesics with arbitrary length in any infinite dimensional asymptotic Teichmüller space, and prove that there exist non-convexity spheres in asymptotic Teichmüller spaces with respect to infinitely many geodesics. The construction of an asymptotically extremal Beltrami differential is an important tool in the proof.
