Hochschild cohomology commutes with adic completion (Q738829)

It is shown that if \(A\) is a flat commutative algebra over a commutative ring, such that the enveloping algebra \(A \otimes A\) is noetherian, then the adic completion of the Hochschild cohomology of \(A\) with coefficient in a finitely-generated \(A\)-module \(M\), is isomorphic to the Hochschild cohomology of the adic completion of \(A\) with coefficients in the adic completion of \(M\). The adic completion here is understood with respect to some ideal of \(A\). As an application, the Hochschild cohomology of \(k[[t_1,\dots,t_n]]\) over a noetherian ring \(k\) is computed.
