In this interesting paper, the author describes the multiplicative Jordan triple isomorphisms between the sets of positive elements of two von Neumann algebras. Specifically, let \(A_{+}\) and \(B_{+}\) denote the positive elements of two von Neumann algebras \(A\) and \(B\), respectively. Suppose that \(\phi : A_{+} \to B_{+}\) is a multiplicative Jordan triple isomorphism, that is, a bijective mapping satisfying that \(\phi ( a b a) = \phi (a) \phi (b) \phi (a)\) for all \(a,b\in A_+\). Then there exist direct decompositions \(A = A_1 \oplus A_2\) and \(B=B_1\oplus B_2\) and bijective maps \(\phi_1 : A_1 \to B_1\) and \(\phi_2 : A_2 \to B_2\) such that \(\phi_1\) is a linear *-algebra isomorphism, \(\phi_2\) is a linear *-algebra anti-isomorphism, and \(\phi = \phi_1 +\phi_2\) on \(A_{+}\). The above result is applied to describe the (bijective) multiplicative Jordan triple isomorphisms between the self-adjoint parts of two von Neumann algebras. Theorem~2 shows that for every bijective mapping \(\phi\) between the selfadjoint parts of two von Neumann algebras \(A\) and \(B\) satisfying \(\phi(aba)=\phi(a)\phi(b)\phi(a)\), \(a,b\in A_{sa}\), then \(\phi\) coincides with the restriction to \(A_{sa}\) of a linear combination of two linear *-algebra isomorphisms and two linear *-algebra anti-isomorphisms. The case of multiplicative Jordan triple automorphisms of the self-adjoint part of \(L(H)\) was already considered by the author in [Lett.\ Math.\ Phys.\ 51, No.\, 1, 37--45 (2000; Zbl 1072.81535)]. In the last part of the paper, the author studies bijective maps on von Neumann algebras preserving the absolute value of products. These mappings were already considered in [\textit{M.\thinspace Radja\-ba\-li\-pour}, Linear Algebra Appl.\ 368, 229--241 (2003; Zbl 1114.47309)] under the additional assumption of linearity.
