Let \((M,L)\) be an \(n\)-dimensional Finsler manifold, endowed with the Cartan connection. The concept of the so-called \(h\)-vector was introduced by \textit{H. Izumi} [Tensor, N. S. 34, 337--359 (1980; Zbl 0465.53018)], in the context of the conformal changes of a Finsler function. In fact, an h-vector is a Finsler covector field over \(M\). It may be applied to construct a new Finsler function \({}^{*}L\); the transition from \(L\) to \({}^{*L}\) is called a generalized Randers change. The authors obtain results concerning this change, both at the level of the given Finsler manifold and at the level of its hypersurfaces.
