    Let \(P_n^+\) denote the set of all \(n\times n\) nonnegative matrices. For a function \(f:\mathbb R^m_+\to\mathbb R_+\) and matrices \(A_k=(a_{ij}^k)_{i,j=1}^n\), \(k=1,\dots,m\), define \(f(A_1,\dots,A_m)=(f(a_{ij}^1,\dots,a_{ij}^m))_{i,j=1}^n.\) For each \(A\in P_n^+\) we denote its spectral radius by \(\rho(A)\) and its max eigenvalue by \(\mu(A)\). In a previous paper, all functions \(f\) which satisfy \[ \rho(f(A_1,\dots,A_m))\leq f(\rho(A_1),\dots,\rho(A_m)),\quad \text{for all }n\in\mathbb N,\text{ for all }A_1,\dots,A_m \] and some functions which satisfy \[ f(\rho(A_1),\dots,\rho(A_m))\leq \rho(f(A_1,\dots,A_m)),\quad \text{for all }n\in\mathbb N,\text{ for all }A_1,\dots,A_m \] were characterized. Here, for an interval \(\mathcal I\) in \(\mathbb R_+\), the authors characterize those functions \(f\) satisfying \[ \mu(f(A_1,\dots,A_m))\leq f(\mu(A_1),\dots,\mu(A_m)),\quad \text{for all }n\in\mathbb N,\text{ for all }A_1,\dots,A_m \] as well as the functions satisfying \(f(0)=0\) and \[ f(\mu(A_1),\dots,\mu(A_m))\leq \mu(f(A_1,\dots,A_m)),\quad \text{for all }n\in\mathbb N,\text{ for all }A_1,\dots,A_m. \]
