There are many examples of isospectral manifolds which are not isometric. However, most of them are locally isometric; they have a common Riemannian cover. Szabo has given a construction of pairs of isospectral manifolds with boundary which are not locally isometric. In this paper, the authors exhibit continuous families of isospectral Riemannian manifolds which are not locally isometric; they continuously deform Riemannian metrics on the product of a ball in \(\mathbb{R}^m\) for \(m\geq 5\) with a torus \(T^r\) of dimension \(r\geq 2\) in such a way that the local geometry changes but the spectrum of the Laplace operator with either Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions remains invariant.
