In this paper, the four compliance components of an orthotropic structure are identified from displacement measurements using a Levenberg-Marquardt boundary element method. Notably, the sensitivity Jacobian matrix is calculated analytically. However, since the numerically simulated data on displacements are used as the corresponding measured values to which no noise has been added, an inverse crime has been committed. Further investigatons based on adding errors in the measured data are needed in order to conclude the stability of the numerical solution.
