This paper concerns to construct a numerical method for the boundary value problem, arising from the fluorescence tomography of the form \[ (- \nabla (k\nabla)+ \mu)^{2} = f \qquad \text{ in } \Omega, \] \[ u= \xi \qquad \text{ on } \partial \Omega, \] \[ k\nabla u \mathbf{n}= \nu \qquad \text{ on }\partial \Omega, \] where \(\Omega\) is an open bounded domain in \(\mathbb R^{2}\). The approximate solution is obtained using the Galerkin finite element method by a system of discontinuous functions for the partition \(T_{h}\) of the domain \(\Omega\). The numerical results, given for this approximate scheme, indicate that the convergence rate of solutions is of order \(o(h)\) in the space \(H^{2}\) and it is of order \(o(h^{2})\) in the \(L^{2}\) norm.
