In this paper, the author defines and studies alternating multizeta values in positive characteristic. Let \(\mathbb K\) be a finite field, \(r\geq 1\), \(s_1,\ldots,s_r\in\mathbb N=\{1,2,\ldots\}\), \(\varepsilon_1,\ldots,\varepsilon_r\in\mathbb K^\times\). Then the corresponding alternating multizeta value is \[\zeta_{\mathbb K[X]}(s_1,\ldots,s_r, \varepsilon_1,\ldots,\varepsilon_r) = \sum \frac{ \varepsilon_1^{\deg a_1} \cdot \ldots \cdot\varepsilon_r^{\deg a_r} }{a_1^{s_1} \cdot \ldots \cdot a_r^{s_r} }\in\mathbb K((1/X))\] where \((a_1,\ldots,a_r)\) ranges through the set of \(r\)-tuples of monic elements of \(\mathbb K[X]\) such that \(\deg a_1 > \ldots > \deg a_r\geq 0\). This definition is a generalisation of the one of multizeta values (also called multiple zeta values), given by Thakur in positive characteristic and obtained in the special case \( \varepsilon_1 = \ldots = \varepsilon_r=1\). The author generalises to alternating multizeta values the following results: non-vanishing; sum-shuffle relations; period interpretation; linear independence.
