A family of frames \(\left\{\varphi_{i j}\right\}_{i \in I}\) for \(j \in\{1, \ldots, m\}\) for a Hilbert space \(\mathcal{H}\) is said to be woven if there are universal constants \(A\) and \(B\) so that for every partition \(\left\{\sigma_{j}\right\}_{j=1}^{m}\) of \(I\), the family \(\left\{\varphi_{i j}\right\}_{i \in \sigma_{j}, j=1}^{m}\) is a frame for \(\mathcal{H}\) with lower and upper frame bounds \(A\) and \(B\), respectively. In this paper, the authors show that woven frames have the same excess. Moreover, it is known that a frame with its canonical dual is woven provided that the norm of redundant elements is small enough. This paper proves this fact for alternate duals. Other results are: i) the multiple of two woven frames is also woven; ii) if two frames \(\Phi\) and \(\Psi\) are woven, then there are some duals \(\Phi^{d}\) of \(\Phi\) such that \(\Psi\) and \(S_{\Phi} \Phi^{d}\) are woven; iii) the wovenness property can be transferred to special dual frames. Finally, the authors look at which perturbations of dual frames preserve the woven property.
