A \(D(n)\) Diophantine triple is a set of three integers \(\{a,b,c\}\) such that \(ab+n,~bc+n,~ca+n\) are all squares. Because of various identities satisfied by the sequence of Fibonacci numbers \(\{F_n\}_{n\ge 0}\), it turns out that there are several \(D(q)\) triples whose contents are related to Fibonacci numbers for various values of the parameter \(q\). For example, \(\{F_{2n},F_{2n+2},F_{2n+4}\}\) is always a Diophantine \(D(1)\) triple. In the paper under review the authors first prove a result characterizing the solutions of Pellian equations that correspond to \(D(\ell^2)\) Diophantine triples for a positive integer \(\ell\). This generalises a result of \textit{L. Baćić} and \textit{A. Filipin} [Math. Commun. 18, No. 2, 447--456 (2013; Zbl 1293.11051)] who treated the case \(\ell=2\). Subsequently, they use this result and linear forms in logarithms in order to classify all \(D(9)\) and \(D(64)\) triples of the form \(\{F_{2n+8},9F_{2n+4},F_k\}\) and \(\{F_{2n+12},16F_{2n+6},F_k\}\).
