    Let \(M = I\times\mathbb{R}^{n-1}\subset\mathbb{R}^n\), \(I\) being an open interval, be endowed with the Riemannian metric \(g = \rho(t)dt^2 + \sum_{i=1}^{n-1} \eta_i(t) dx_i^2\), \(\rho\) and \(\eta_i\) being positive. Let \(\mathbb{R}^n_a\) denote the space \(\mathbb{R}^n\) equipped with the Minkowski metric \(\langle\cdot , \cdot\rangle\) of signature \((a, n-a)\), \(\displaystyle S^n_a = \{ x\in\mathbb{R}^{n+1}; \langle x, x\rangle = 1/c\}\) and \(\displaystyle\mathbb{H}_a^n (-c) = \{ x\in\mathbb{R}^{n+1}; \langle x, x\rangle = -1/c\}\) (\(c > 0\)). The authors show that \(M\) can be isometrically immersed in \(\displaystyle\mathbb{R}_a^{4n-3-2a}\), \(S_a^{4n-3-2a}(c)\) and \(\displaystyle\mathbb{H}_a^{4n-3-2a}(-c)\), and isometrically embedded in \(\displaystyle\mathbb{R}_a^{8n-7-6a}\), \(S_a^{8n-7-6a}(c)\) and \(\displaystyle\mathbb{H}_a^{8n-7-6a}(-c)\). The method and results should be compared with those of \textit{D. G. Azov} [Vestn. Mosk. Univ., Ser. I 1985, No. 5, 72--74 (1985; Zbl 0581.53040)].
