The \(X=M\) conjecture of Hatayama et al. [see \textit{G. Hatayama, A. Kuniba, M. Okado, T. Takagi} and \textit{Z. Tsuboi}, Paths, crystals and fermionic formulae. MathPhys odyssey 2001. (Providence), RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS). Contemp. Math. 248, 243--291 (1999; Zbl 1032.81015)]) conjectures the equality between the one-dimensional configuration sum \(X\) and the fermionic formula \(M\) for all Kac-Moody algebras. In the paper under review the authors prove the \(X=M\) conjecture for tensor products of Kirillov-Reshetikhin crystals of the form \(B^{1,s}\) associated to symmetric powers for nonexceptional affine algebras. This extends some previous results of the authors.
