Let \(\mu\colon T^*Q\to{\mathfrak g}^*\) be the equivariant momentum map for the lifted action of a proper action of a Lie group \(G\) on the configuration manifold \(Q\). For a coadjoint orbit \({\mathcal O}\subseteq\mu(T^*Q)\) the corresponding singular symplectic quotient is \(T^*Q//_{\mathcal O}G:=\mu^{-1}({\mathcal O})/G\), which may not be a smooth manifold. It is one of the purposes of the paper under review to provide a bundle picture for that reduced phase space, that is, a fiber bundle \(T^*Q//_{\mathcal O}G\to T^*(Q/G)\) in a suitable sense. One of the main theorems of the paper makes that idea precise under the assumption that \(Q\) is of single orbit type, in the sense that the isotropy groups at all of the points of \(Q\) are conjugated to each other. In the same case, one can perform the singular symplectic reduction of \(T^*Q\) and, by using a generalized connection on \(Q\to Q/G\), the symplectic strata of \(T^*Q//_{\mathcal O}G\) are described as fibered products over \(Q/G\). The reduced symplectic structure is computed as well. This picture is then applied for Calogero-Moser systems with spin.
