Given a graph and a smooth algebraic curve, \(\mathcal C\), one can construct a hypercurve arrangement and the paper under review deals with the rational homotopy type of its complement, \(X\). This construction contains the linear arrangements, as finite sets of codimension one linear subspaces of a complex vector space. In this particular case, it is known that \(X\) is formal and its cohomology algebra contains all the rational homotopy type information. A more subtle situation arises when one considers for \(\mathcal{C}\) a smooth projective curve of positive genus. Now the complement is not necessarily formal and the determination of its rational homotopy type needs a Sullivan model. A combinatorial model was given in [\textit{C. Dupont}, Ann. Inst. Fourier 65, No. 6, 2507--2545 (2015; Zbl 1332.14015)] and the authors prove here that this model is Koszul. From it, using a ``quadratic linear duality'', they determine a model in Lie algebras, the Malcev-Lie algebra of \(X\) and prove that \(X\) has the rational homotopy type of a \(K(\pi,1)\). This paper is well written, with clear and documented recalls on models of complements of arrangements and on rational homotopy tools available in the non-nilpotent situation.
