Given \(0<p<\infty\) and \(-1<\alpha<\infty\), let \(D^p_\alpha\) be the weighted Dirichlet space of holomorphic functions in the disk satisfying \[ ||f||^p_{D^p_\alpha}:= \int_{\mathbb D} |f '(z)|^p(1-|z|^2)^\alpha dA(z)+|f(0)|^p<\infty, \] where \(dA\) is the normalized area measure on \(\mathbb D\). For \(g\in H(\mathbb D)\), the authors consider the operators \(T_g\) given by \(T_gf(z) =\int_0^z f(\xi)g'(\xi)d\xi\). It is shown that for \(0<p\leq 2\), the boundedness of \(T_g:D^p_{p-1}\to H^p\) is equivalent to the boundedness of \(T_g:H^p\to H^p\) and that this happens if and only if \(g\in \text{BMOA}\). This is no longer the case if \(p>2\) and a complete description of the boundedness of this operator does not seem to be known. Note that \(D^p_{p-1}\subset H^p\) for \(0<p<2\) and \(H^p\subset D^p_{p-1}\) for \(2<p<\infty\), whereas \(D^2_1=H^2\). Considered is also the case where the target space is \(H^q\). Criteria for the compactness of \(T_g\) are given as well.
