Conditions for partial and full synchronization of a master-slave system consisting of two periodically forced oscillators are given. A periodically driven pendulum \[ x''+a_0 \sin x = A_0 \cos\omega t \] acts as a master system, which influences the slave system: a periodically forced Duffing oscillator. The slave system, written in a vector form, is (original notations are used) \[ y'=F(y,t) - u(x,y,t), \] where \(y\in \mathbb{R}^2\), \(F : \mathbb{R}^3\to \mathbb{R}^2\) corresponds to the Duffing oscillator with \(F_1 = y_2\) and \(F_2=-d_1 y_2 +a_1 y_1 -a_2 y_1^3 +Q_0 \cos(\Omega t)\). The coupling term \(u: \mathbb{R}^5 \to \mathbb{R}^2\) is realized as a discontinuous function \(u_j = k_j \mathrm{sgn} (y_j-x_j)\), \(j=1,2\).
