In \textit{F. T. Farell}'s 1967 Yale Ph. D. thesis there are presented obstructions to the existence of a fiber bundle map homotopic to a given smooth map to the circle. These obstructions reside in the \(K_ 0\) and \(K_ 1\) groups of the fiber. \textit{L. C. Siebenmann} proffered a refinement of these techniques [Comment. Math. Helv. 45, 1-48 (1970; Zbl 0215.246)]. Twenty years later, the paper under review utilizes a combination of the techniques of Farell and Siebenmann to provide obstructions to the uniqueness, up to isotopy, of such a fibering. These obstructions reside in the \(K_ 1\) and \(K_ 2\) groups of the fiber. The \(Wh_ 1(\pi_ 1(fiber))=0\) case was earlier studied by \textit{F. Laudenbach} [Bull. Soc. Math. Fr. 104(1976), 417-431 (1977; Zbl 0348.57014)].
