Let C, D be convex sets in a Banach space E such that C-D is absorbing and let \(\phi\) : \(C\to R\) be a convex, \(\psi\) : \(D\to R\) a concave function satisfying \(\phi\) (x)\(\geq \psi (x)\) for all \(x\in C\cap D\). The sandwich problem consists in finding a continuous affine function \(h: E\to R\) such that \(h\leq \phi\) on C, \(h\geq \psi\) on D are satisfied. This requires additional conditions on \(\phi\), \(\psi\). We prove that in the case where \(\phi\), -\(\psi\) are weakly K-analytic functions, the sandwich problem has a solution h. Here a function \(f: B\to R\) is called weakly K- analytic if \(\{\) \(x\in B:\) \(f(x)<\alpha \}\) is weakly K-analytic for all \(\alpha\) \(\in R\). This result provides a non-separable variant of a sandwich theorem obtained by the author in his paper ``Continuous affine support mappings for convex operators'', J. Funct. Anal. 76 (1988). An application of the sandwich theorem in infinite-dimensional convex programming is included.
