This paper concerns cohomogeneity one Ricci solitons. By definition, a Ricci soliton is a complete Riemannian metric \(g\) and a complete vector field \(X\) on a manifold \(M\), which solve the equation \(\text{Ric}(g)+\frac{1}{2} L_Xg+\frac{\varepsilon}{2} g =0\), where \(\varepsilon\) is a real constant. Such a solution generates a family of Riemannian metrics \(g_t\) on \(M\) which evolves in a particularly simple way (by diffeomorphisms and homotheties) under the Ricci flow \(\frac{d}{dt} g_t = - 2 \operatorname{Ric}(g_t)\). Ricci solitons are well studied in the case of homogeneous metrics -- compact homogeneous Ricci solitons are trivial, whereas nontrivial noncompact homogeneous Ricci solitons exist, and there is a natural correspondence between left-invariant Einstein metrics on solvable Lie groups and homogeneous Ricci solitons on their nilradicals [cf., \textit{J. Lauret}, Math. Ann. 319, No.~4, 715--733 (2001; Zbl 0987.53019)]. Actually, the author discusses an original general approach to Ricci solitons of cohomogeneity one (see [\textit{H.-D. Cao}, in: Elliptic and parabolic methods in geometry. Proceedings of a workshop, Minneapolis, MN, USA, May 23--27, 1994. Wellesley, MA: A K Peters. 1--16 (1996; Zbl 0868.58047); J. Differ. Knopf}, J. Differ. Geom. 65, No.~2, 169--209 (2003; Zbl 1069.53036); \textit{N. Koiso}, in: Recent topics in differential and analytic geometry, Adv. Stud. Pure Math. 18-I, 327--337 (1990; Zbl 0739.53052); \textit{H. Pedersen, C. Tønnesen-Friedman} and \textit{G. Valent}, Lett. Math. Phys. 50, No.~3, 229--241 (1999; Zbl 0997.53035); \textit{V. Apostolov} et al., Commun. Anal. Geom. 16, No.~1, 91--126 (2008; Zbl 1145.53054)] for particular examples of such solitons). The Ricci soliton equation is reduced to a particular system of ordinary differential equations, which is used to produce new explicit examples of complete Kähler-Ricci solitons of expanding (\(\varepsilon>0\)), steady (\(\varepsilon=0\)) and shrinking (\(\varepsilon<0\)) types. These solitons are foliated by hypersurfaces which are circle bundles over a product of Fano Kähler-Einstein manifolds or over coadjoint orbits of a compactly connected semisimple Lie group [cf., \textit{F. Podestá} and \textit{A. Spiro}, J. Reine Angew. Math. 642, 109--127 (2010; Zbl 1210.14057); \textit{X.-J. Wang} and \textit{X. Zhu}, Adv. Math. 188, No.~1, 87--103 (2004; Zbl 1086.53067)].
