The author analyzes the large \(N\) limit of the model of normal random matrices and in particular the support of the complex eigenvalues. He shows that this occurs in interface dynamics in viscous flows, the Saffman-Taylor fingering, and in the semiclassical behavior of 2-dimensional electronic droplets in the quantum Hall regime.
