The approximation of linear functionals of the form \(\Omega= \langle x,g \rangle\) is examined, where \(x\) is the solution of the linear operator equation \(Ax=f\), with \(x,g,f\) elements of a Hilbert space \(H\) and \(A\) is an invertible operator on \(H\). Two methods of approximating \(A^{-1}\) and a numerical example are presented.
